Role of teacher In school, students are permitted to have a "teacher's assistant," or TA for short, which is typically a teacher from the last period who records what was being taught in that period and distributes it to students after school. In some schools, TAs also distribute homework assignments and grade them accordingly. In the history department at my university, a TA often has to be present throughout the entirety of a class just in case something happens to the professor. If the professor falls ill or is not able to teach on time, someone else will have to step in while asking nothing of them except for their input on how they feel about sharing their knowledge with everyone else currently enrolled in class. The TA is not allowed to write down what is being taught, even though it may be beneficial to the students, however I think the professor would recommend this. The students do not want or need to learn by book just for the sake of learning. It is also pointless for the professor to give out an assignment with complete information of what they are supposed to do on paper because it will be redundant and unnecessary. The professor must impart knowledge by giving examples and asking questions throughout the class (this is true in any course, not just history) but it must always be understood that all assignments are graded, no matter how much input they offer. All need to do in order to get an A in the class is to at least "try," and if they fail, push themselves even further by staying after class and doing the work. POSITIVE IMPACT ON STUDENTS: SOME of the best learning methods that I have ever used were simply ones that involved word of mouth from a teacher that I did not personally know or have had the pleasure of meeting. The only thing required from me was to figure out if their method of teaching worked for me or not, and if it did, then I did everything within my power to pass along what they taught so that others could use them as well. I felt that I benefited greatly because other than learning, understanding, and memorizing content for tests, the course taught me how to think for myself and to learn by thought rather than learning by rote. BASEBALL OR HOCKEY? If I wanted to learn something that was not related to my major or just something that I liked more than history or literature then, while still in college, I would look into how many hours it took me to master the material. If it takes me an hour to master it then there is no reason why someone could not do the same. However, if it takes me ten hours to master something that I do not enjoy then it is just another way of saying that I do not like it, seeing as how much time goes in to getting done what I do not enjoy doing. Instead, one can look for an easier method inorder to get the job done faster. IMPROVEMENTS ON STUDENT LIFE Nothing can be improved upon when it comes to college life except for the fact that there are no sleepovers. The only things that are needed are more roommates and less studying. cfa1e77820
